The Ober Gatlinburg attraction in Gatlinburg, Tennessee has been named one of the “Top 10 Ski Destinations in the United States” by AOL Travel.

The attraction earned the distinction due to its nine whitewashed trails, amusement park fun, aerial tram rides, and location which provides fantastic scenic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Ober Gatlinburg produces its own snow once the weather conditions provide that it is cold enough. This year the weather turned chilly early, so they were able to open their slopes earlier than in years past.

The slopes officially opened to the public on December 10.

The nine trails featured at Ober Gatlinburg are serviced by two quad lifts, one double lift and one surface lift. The terrain found on the slopes caters to those of all abilities, from novice to pro. An ice skating rink is also located at the attraction, as well as a snow tubing area, restaurant, lounge, shops and more.
